01/Regular/Full-TimeEmployee is responsible for coordinating, organizing, implementing and advertising planned scheduled social, health, cultural/traditional, educational, and recreational activities for eligible Elders in service areas as defined by funding agency resources; and provide regular reports of data for clients served.
Employee works closely with the AAoA Advisory Board (GEAB).
This will include supervising volunteers and collaboration with staff or related programs.
Must be able to relate to and understand the needs of elders.
Employee will, as assigned, travel with elders and will accompany elders for duration of travel, which may occur on nights or weekends.
The employee is required to work with minimal supervision and must have excellent communication, organizational, administrative and time management skills.
Examples of Work Performed:
Attends GEAB meetings, together with AAoA Program Director, Human Services Director, and HEW Committee or designees to determine the needs and requests for scheduled activities and projects.
Sends out the planned agenda to the advisory board and above named prior to the meeting.
Agenda will include background materials and sent in time for members to digest its contents and be prepared for discussion; and in an understandable format to identify issues.
Each meeting agenda will include the meeting minutes of the previous meeting(s); financial reports for all funding sources; committee reports; Coordinator/Program report on activities and events completed not limited to number of elders served, costs, post activity evaluation and highlights; and upcoming events/activities.
Develop and disseminate a calendar for GEAB planning, contracting, management, and other AAoA business or elder events throughout the entire year.
From the approved attendance list for regular, special and committee meetings, prepares the request for stipends for board members; as needed, prepares travel documents.
Send the approved minutes to ALTSA or as required to appropriate funding agency.
Maintain a GEAB binder with copies of approved calendars, minutes, financial reports, and member information accessible during meetings.
Prepares and sets up logistics for all GEAB meetings.
Plans, organizes, advertises, and implements approved elder events, activities, services, and resources.
Collaborates with volunteers, GEAB, staff, and service providers as appropriate.
Coordinates a range of wellness and health services to add to the quality of life in social, health, education, and cultural benefits for elders.
Identifies services to carry out program objectives, works closely with AAoA management.
Ensures that proper supervision and oversight is provided during all activities.
Events/activities may include but not limited to:
Elder Day lunches in the Northwest Food gathering such as root digging, berry picking Arts and crafts Educational services such as technology with computers, phones, library, financial, legal, or personal health resources Movies, local fairs, or information events Holiday and YN events Health fairs and AAoA services Coordinate with AAoA staff, Human Services Director, HEW Committee, and GEAB to host the YN Elders Day lunch.
Solicit volunteers and sponsors.
Coordinates the Elder Information Fair.
Work will include, as scheduled, transporting and traveling with elders.
Will work, as designated, with the Goldendale Title VI program to include elders.
Distributes flyers, bulletins, media announcements for events, activities, resources, and services in a timely manner to allow elders to access same.
Assures a fair method of selection of elders to participate.
Establishes and coordinates a volunteer roster who are YN eligible.
Performs administrative duties:
Attends meetings, takes minutes, prepares and distributes same.
Coordinates with the program manager/assigned accounting staff, the annual budget, goals and objectives, and monthly budget reports.
Does logistics for events:
transportation, travel arrangements, selection and sign-up sheets, contact information, elder application and support documents, stipends, and immediate close out of financial documents, together with a trip or event report.
Maintains records of activities.
Submits monthly reports.
Assists in monitoring the budget.
Ensures program expenditures comply with applicable guidelines.
Maintains binder of GEAB policy, procedures, and operating guidelines updated; maintains GEAB member contact information; and elder data.
Prepares all necessary financial documents and input of data to carry out job duties.
Coordinates with the YN Emergency Management to develop a mapping plan and maintain an updated natural disaster evacuation list of disabled adults in the service area(s).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of elder needs and resources.
Learn Aging and Adult Services Administration mission.
Knowledge and understanding of YN tradition and cultures, socio-economic status.
Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices to organize activities for small and large groups.
Knowledge of YN programs and community organizations for services and resources.
Knowledge of computer software programs and operating systems assigned.
Skill in promoting activities which involves self-motivation and collaboration.
Ability to perform as a team member of the program.
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly articulate, both written and verbal.
Ability to communicate professionally with clientele, co-workers, superiors, and community.
Ability to understand and execute both oral and written instructions and directives.
Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships with tribal, city, county, state, and local officials.
Ability to exercise and apply patience, sensitivity and understanding when working with elders.
Ability to deal constructively with both positive and negative reactions and situations.
Ability to plan, schedule, prioritize work demands, and implement timely all tasks.
Ability to give clear, accurate oral and written reports.
Ability to prepare correspondence, materials, reports and meet established deadlines.
Ability to promote elder involvement in program offerings.

Ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements of client records which includes tribal, state, federal or local confidentiality policies.
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of an Associate of Arts degree in geriatrics, social work, health, business, or related field with preference for work done with elders; and OR three years' work experience as a Community Health Aide III with related college coursework.
Preferred Requirements:
Required to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test, preference to drug & alcohol free person.
Required to pass a criminal background check.
Must possess a current/valid WA State Driver license with ability to obtain a YN Tribal Driving Permit.
Must submit a full driving abstract at time of application for driver permit.
Must possess a current First-Aid/CPR card or able to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
Must obtain a Food Handlers card within 60 days of hire.
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
