What does the Maintenance Director do? Are you and experienced Maintenance Director in long-term care looking to join an dynamic team? In the Maintenance Director role, you will be providing maintenance services to the building, equipment, and grounds of our skilled nursing rehabilitation center.
In short, you oversee the care center/community to ensure it is safe for all.

1.
Provide oversight in delivering preventive maintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.
2.
Direct and lead repairs, supervising of the Maintenance Assistant and within area of expertise including, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting and in accordance to accepted codes.
3.
Arrange for and manage contract repairs, maintenance, and other construction services to care center/community.
4.
Monitors and record building and water temperatures and adjusts to meet regulations and safety codes.
5.
Ensure strict adherence to community fire safety and hazardous chemical procedures, promptly address all unsafe conditions or equipment problems.
6.
Oversight and lead the Emergency Management Committee, Safety Committee, Fire/Life Safety-including leading of drills, and staff training.
7.
Oversees and guides the work of the Maintenance Assistant.
8.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects, use critical thinking skills to see the big picture and lead to successful outcomes.
9.
Manage all vendors to ensure work is high quality and within budget.
10.
Excellent communication skills, verbally, written and computer tech skills required.
11.
Implement and train on the use of electronic work order system and mange efficiencies.
Education Experience you need to qualify:
You will need a Vocational or Trade School degree in general maintenance or three years of experience in carpentry, electrical or painting work.
Experience with budgets, quality oversight, fire/safety processes required.
Experience with skilled-nursing, hospitals or other care facilities highly recommended.
Building engineer a plus! A valid drivers' license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
