70/Regular/Full-Time The Office Specialist will be responsible for performing numerous functions for Agriculture Development.
They will:
analyze/audit documents for accuracy and verification of billing, line items, timelines, and appropriate vendor address; ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and procedures; are responsible to analyze purchase orders, requisitions, cash receipts, pre-payments, work with subcontractors and finalizing contracts, and payroll.
Assist Managers in accomplishment of their duties.
The Office Specialist will need to work with YN Farms and future YN ventures.
Examples of Work Performed:
Assist Agriculture staff in accomplishing the Agriculture Development goals.
Responsible for all Agriculture Development purchase orders, travel authorizations, pre-payments, budgets, and CUFF accounting.
Assist in Grant, Contract, and Funding acquisition for Agriculture Development initiatives.
Coordinates daily work assignments and responsibilities with co-workers in a teamwork environment.
Works independently and handles general work assignments with minimal supervision daily.
Verifies daily/weekly production logs.
Coordinates the development of annual plans and budgets, including grant seeking and writing for Agriculture Development.
Coordinate the submission of required reports to various funding resources.
Assist in ensuring appropriate staffing levels relative to the budgetary process.
Collaborate with Agriculture scholarship recipients to mentor and train.
Assist in the transition of Yakama Nation Farms.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Tribal cultural values, traditions, practices, and history.
Skills in finance and accounting that include financial statements (Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Statement of Cash Flows).
Skill in use of computer and assorted software programs including but not limited to:
Microsoft Office, D365, iSolved.
Skill in operating standard office equipment such as copier, scanner, and fax machines.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively pay bills as needed on time.
Ability to prepare financial reports and statements.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbal presentation.
Ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, create and implement action plans and evaluate the process and results.
Ability to coordinate and plan meetings.
Ability to get along well with diverse personalities and be tactful, mature, and flexible.
Ability to be flexible in job duties throughout the farming seasons.
Ability to adapt to work environments and situations for the Agriculture Program to be successful.
Ability to analyze and process documents in a timely and efficient manner.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field or Business and/or Accounting Associates degree with 2 years experience or 4 years experience in a related field.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
