Operations Intern

Internship Opportunity
We are currently soliciting participation in an Operations internship at AB Washington Beef, our processing plant, located in Toppenish, Washington. We are seeking to fill one position for the summer of 2019
Preference will be given to a student who is working towards an under-graduate or graduate degree in Meat Science, Food Science, or other ag related field. Qualified applicant must have basic computer skills, good communication skills, basic meat science knowledge and the desire to gain work experience in a progressive meat production facility.
The program scope consists of working with operations on yield data gathering and capturing the proper way to perform tasks in order to meet our products specifications in the fabrication division. Major components include:
Work with operations personnel to validate our product yield standards
Create a workbook of yields results to be presented at the culmination of the internship period
Create a library of products cutting films to preserve and disseminate the proper way to perform an specific job
This internship opportunity offers hands-on work in each Washington Beef production division. The Intern works with a diverse management team including the disciplines of production, quality assurance, sales, maintenance, sanitation, and information technology. This program will provide a unique opportunity to augment college course work with practical work experience.
RequirementsJunior or Senior or Graduate Student
Preference will be given to persons working toward a degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, Ag Economics or a related degree in the College of Agriculture.
Preference will also be given to applicants with practical hands on experience working with livestock or in the meat industry

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
