Office Automation Assistant

Produces a wide range of documents that require complex formats, such as graphics and tables within text and to revise and update existing databases and spreadsheets. Prepares materials for publication such as pamphlets, certificates, forms, graphs, technical manuals or comparable items. Uses word processing to create, format, modify, edit and print a variety of letters, reports, memos and other documents. Prepares a wide variety of recurring correspondence, internal reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources and reviews and finalizes documents prepared by others. Proofreads/edits documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation and format. Coordinates travel and meeting arrangements. Performs project document filing. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GS-0326-05 Office Automation Assistant Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. GS-5:
Applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-04 level that includes:
Applies knowledge of software functions to produce a wide range of documents, such as graphics or tables, to edit and/or reformat electronic drafts, and to update or revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Performs tasks required to maintain electronic records, e.g., calendars, directories, spreadsheets, and databases, and/or to produce various items, e.g., correspondence, memos, publications, manuscripts, reports, or forms, in draft or final form. Composes routine correspondence. Proofreads/edits documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation and format. Ability to prepare travel arrangement/authorization and travel vouchers. OR Successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. OR Completed a combination of education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond. For GS-5 level positions, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT:
Applicants for this position must show possession of Office Automation skills and must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute. Applicants must meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue certificates by the Office of Personnel Management, or by self-certifying their proficiency. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
